MONDI “Energy modernization” Phase I designation

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Due to the increase in energy prices, we conducted a study at the client’s request to examine a system suitable for reducing gas consumption, which resulted in the client’s choice of a heat pump system.

The existing air handling system in the halls provides the necessary air for the technology. The air handling units do not have cooling capabilities, so in addition to the internal thermal load during summer, the air conditioning system also contributes significant heat to the space. The supply air must be cooled. Our task in Phase I was to execute the cooling of the interior sections of Halls 1 and 2.

The cooling energy will be provided by new heat pump chillers that will be implemented in Phase II.

The heat emitters were realized partly through the modification of the air handling system and partly through the installation of indoor units.

A cooling-heating heat exchanger air handling unit was added to the existing air handling system.

High-performance fan coils were installed, to which textile air ducts were connected. The ease of cleaning textile air ducts, especially when complemented by spare ducts (so that the system does not need to be taken offline during cleaning), offers a significant advantage over „rigid duct” systems.
